From a business idea to a project capable of creating real value, New Venture Creation (NVC) is a distinctive course at Bachelor program of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship Management (B-BAE) where students do more than learn about entrepreneurship. They experience the journey of building a business project from the ground up. In 2026, this journey takes a new step forward as, for the first time, B-BAEstudents and students from the Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (FDA) come together in an integrated learning model, creating a space where business thinking, technology, and artificial intelligence intersect.

From the classroom to building a real-world project
Unlike approaches that focus primarily on entrepreneurship theory, New Venture Creation is designed around a learning-by-doing philosophy. Throughout the course, student teams identify real-world problems, develop ideas, build products or services, engage with customers, and validate their projects through real market feedback.
This spirit has also been reflected in the ISME Innovation Fair, an initiative that has been part of the course in previous years. At ISME Innovation Fair 2025, 10 projects developed by B-BAE students were presented directly to customers, lecturers, and investors. Students went beyond pitching their ideas, gaining hands-on experience in introducing, consulting on, and piloting their products in a real-world setting.
Through this process, NVC goes beyond asking, “Is this a good idea?” More importantly, it encourages students to ask, “Does this idea solve a real problem and create meaningful value?”

The first time B-BAE and FDA come together for NVC 2026
While previous editions of NVC primarily focused on developing the entrepreneurial and business capabilities of B-BAE students, this year’s course introduces a new integrated model that brings together students from B-BAE and the Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (FDA).
This marks a significant step forward in approaching startup projects. A successful startup needs more than a good idea. It also requires diverse areas of expertise to turn that idea into a solution that can be effectively developed and implemented.
B-BAE students bring their knowledge of business, markets, marketing, strategy, and project development, while FDA students contribute expertise in technology, data, AI, and business-oriented thinking. This combination allows teams to approach entrepreneurial challenges from multiple perspectives and develop more comprehensive solutions.

When different expertise becomes a competitive advantage
Within a startup team, different areas of expertise can become a valuable resource for product development.
A customer problem can be viewed through a Business lens to identify needs and business models, through a Data lens to collect and analyse relevant data, and through an AI lens to explore suitable technology-driven solutions.
Through the B-BAE & FDA collaboration, students have the opportunity to step beyond their familiar areas of expertise and work with teammates who approach problems differently. This experience not only brings diverse professional perspectives to each project but also strengthens students’ abilities in communication, task allocation, collaboration, and problem-solving within a multidisciplinary team.
This is also how NVC continues to bring the spirit of project-based learning into practice. Rather than learning different areas of knowledge in isolation, students work together to apply their respective strengths to solve a specific problem.

From “Idea” to “Impact”
This spirit continues the journey that New Venture Creation has built over the years. From Innovation Fair to Demo Day, students are placed in situations that increasingly reflect the realities of building a startup: developing ideas, testing products, receiving feedback, making adjustments, and convincing customers or evaluation panels.
With the combination of B-BAE’s entrepreneurial mindset and FDA’s expertise in technology and data, NVC 2026 further expands the space for students to experiment with new ideas and explore their potential.
A startup project can begin with something as simple as a small, everyday problem. But when Business meets Technology, when ideas meet data, and when different areas of expertise come together around a shared goal, a classroom idea can evolve into a solution with real-world value.
