IBD@NEU Program – 2026 Admission Guidelines for International Applicants

The IBD@NEU (International Bachelor Degree at National Economics University) Program offers internationally recognized undergraduate degrees in collaboration with partner universities in the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia. Students may complete their study in Vietnam or transfer to partner universities overseas, depending on their chosen academic pathway.

This article provides essential information regarding eligibility, application requirements, admission procedures, and important deadlines for international applicants.

 

  1. Eligible Applicants

Applications are open to international citizens who satisfy the following requirements:

  • Hold a valid non-Vietnamese nationality,
  • Have completed upper secondary education or an equivalent qualification,
  • Meet the English language requirements of the selected program.

 

  1. Degree programs

IBD@NEU Program offers flexible undergraduate pathways. Depending on their choice, students may study entirely in Vietnam or transfer to internationally accredited partner universities in the UK, USA, or Australia to study the last one or two years of their bachelor degree.

– United Kingdom: Universities that recognize the BTEC Higher National Diploma (BTEC HND) qualification for advanced entry.

  1. English Language Requirement

3.1. General English Requirement

  • Applicants who possess an IELTS Academic score of at least 5.5 (or an equivalent internationally recognized English qualification) are eligible to enter the degree program, subject to the English language requirements of the selected academic pathway.
  • Applicants who do not yet meet the minimum English language requirement may still apply for admission. Upon acceptance, they will be required to complete the English Foundation Program for one semester at IBD@NEU before progressing to the undergraduate curriculum.

– IELTS Academic 6.5, with no band below 5.5;

Students must satisfy the English language requirements of the receiving partner university before transfer.

Semester 2:

IELTS Academic 6.0, with no band below 5.5.

Completion of the Foundation semester.

 

University of Lincoln (UK)

IELTS Academic 6.0, with no individual band below 5.5; and successful completion of all Year 1 modules with a minimum mark of 50% for each module.

  1. Admission Assessment

Admission consists of the following steps:

  • Step 1: Submission and verification of application documents.
  • Step 2: Admission interview (online or on campus).
  • Step 3: Applicants are informed on the admission decision after all assessment components have been completed.

 

  1. Required Application Documents

Applicants should prepare the following documents:

  • Completed Application Form;
  • Passport;
  • Upper secondary school diploma or equivalent qualification;
  • Academic transcripts;
  • English language certificate;
  • Health certificate;
  • Financial guarantee documents (where required);
  • Any results of Vietnamese or international aptitude test or certificate

Certified English translations must accompany documents issued in languages other than English or Vietnamese.

Note:

The above timeline is subject to change depending on the actual admission process. To facilitate timely visa applications, applicants may receive their admission decisions and supporting documents earlier as processing progresses. This allows successful applicants sufficient time to complete visa procedures and arrive in Vietnam before the commencement of the academic semester. 

 

  1. Tuition Fees and Payment Information

7.1. Application Fee and Enrollment Deposit

Applicants are required to pay the following fees during the admission process:

The enrollment deposit will be deducted from the tuition fee for the first semester.

If an admitted applicant is unable to enroll because a Vietnamese student visa is not granted, the National Economics University (NEU) will refund the full enrollment deposit. Any bank charges incurred during the refund process, including fees charged by the sending bank, receiving bank, and any intermediary banks (if applicable), shall be borne by the applicant.

 

7.2. Tuition Fees

Tuition fees vary depending on the selected academic pathway, partner university, and English language entry level (where applicable). Tuition is charged by semester in accordance with the tuition schedule announced by the International School of Management and Economics (ISME).

  • Tuition fees do not include textbooks, learning materials, graduation ceremony fees, examination resits, or repeated courses.
  • Tuition fees may be adjusted by up to 10% annually, subject to changes in partner university tuition policies and exchange rate fluctuations.
  • Overseas study periods are subject to the tuition fee regulations of the receiving partner university.

 

  1. Scholarship

IBD@NEU offers a comprehensive scholarship scheme to support international students from admission through graduation and overseas transfer. Scholarship opportunities are categorized into Entrance Scholarships, Scholarships During Study, and Partner University Scholarships.

8.1. Entrance Scholarships

International applicants admitted to IBD@NEU are eligible for the following entrance scholarships:

8.2. Scholarships During Study

To encourage academic excellence and active student engagement, IBD@NEU offers scholarships throughout the study period.

Available scholarship categories include:

  • Academic Encouragement Scholarship – awarded to students with outstanding academic performance.
  • Student Activity Scholarship – awarded to students with outstanding participation and contributions to student activities and extracurricular programmes.
  • Outstanding Student Award – presented to students demonstrating excellence in academics, leadership, and contributions to the IBD@NEU community.

Scholarships are awarded in accordance with the University’s scholarship policies and evaluation criteria.

 

8.3. Partner University Scholarships

Students transferring to partner universities may be eligible for additional scholarships offered by the receiving institutions.
