The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Trung Thành, Dean of ISME; Dr. Trịnh Thị Thu Giang, Vice Dean of ISME; Dr. Dương Văn Bảy, Head of Postgraduate Department; Dr. Hồ Hoàng Lan, Head of Undergraduate Department; Dr. Lê Thị Hương Lan, in charge of the Cooperation and Development Department; and Dr. Nguyễn Thùy Chinh, Deputy Head of the Undergraduate Department.
Representing Boise State University were Brian O’Morrow – Sr. Director, Executive Education and MBA Programs for Working Professionals, Timothy Dunne – Professor & Executive MBA Faculty Lead, David Hunt – Associate Professor and Marketing Department Chair, Liam Maher – Associate Professor, Joanna Lui – Executive MBA Program Manager
Both parties discussed potential areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening academic connections and expanding international learning opportunities for faculty members, undergraduate students, and postgraduate learners.

ISME@NEU and Boise State University continue to promote teaching collaboration and faculty exchange
ISME@NEU and BSU agreed to continue implementing faculty exchange programs in 2027 through a combination of online and in-person formats. These collaborative activities may include teaching full academic courses or delivering specialized lectures for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
During the discussions, both parties agreed to continue inviting BSU faculty members to teach at ISME in 2027. The proposed teaching topics will focus on Innovation and Design Thinking, with the aim of fostering creative thinking, strengthening problem-solving capabilities, and developing the ability to apply design principles in practical business contexts. These initiatives are expected to enhance educational quality and equip students with the skills needed to succeed in international working environments.
Strengthening faculty exchange will not only facilitate the sharing of expertise between the two institutions but also broaden international learning experiences, enabling learners to engage with diverse teaching methodologies and academic perspectives.

In addition to activities for faculty members, ISME@NEU and BSU also discussed ways to further enhance joint learning activities involving BSU EMBA participants during their visits to Vietnam, together with ISME@NEU undergraduate students and postgraduate learners enrolled in the International Master’s Degree program (IMD@NEU) in 2027.
Potential activities include academic exchanges, sharing educational and career experiences, exploring Vietnamese culture, and participating in social and cultural engagement programs.
Through these initiatives, learners will have opportunities to expand their professional networks, gain diverse perspectives on business and management, and strengthen their cross-cultural experiences in an international environment.
One of the key topics discussed at the meeting was the development of joint research groups involving faculty members from both universities. The two parties explored the possibility of establishing four to five research groups, while also identifying potential research themes and approaches to organizing international academic conferences collaboratively.
The conferences may be held at Boise State University or delivered in hybrid formats, combining in-person and online participation. These arrangements would enable faculty members and researchers from both institutions to contribute to academic research through calls for research paper submissions.
This direction of cooperation is significant in expanding international research networks, strengthening academic exchange, and creating additional opportunities for faculty members to engage with emerging research topics.
Another noteworthy area of potential cooperation is the implementation of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) projects. COIL is an international learning model in which students and faculty members from different educational institutions collaborate online to participate in learning activities, exchange ideas, and work together on joint projects.
Both parties discussed the possibility of developing COIL projects in areas such as Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, and Design Thinking. These fields offer considerable potential for integrating academic knowledge, creative thinking, and practical problem-solving.

Enhancing international learning experiences and cultural exchange between students and postgraduate learners from the two universities
Through this model, students may have additional opportunities to work alongside international peers, exchange perspectives, and collaborate on shared assignments in an online environment. At the same time, the collaboration will enable faculty members from both universities to jointly develop learning materials, share teaching methodologies, and expand their professional networks.
The meeting between ISME@NEU and Boise State University opened up a range of potential areas for collaboration, spanning scientific research, international conferences, teaching cooperation, cross-border online learning models, and exchange activities for learners.
In the coming period, both parties will continue coordinating the implementation of the initiatives discussed, including developing joint research plans, sharing course lists and tentative teaching schedules, connecting suitable faculty members for COIL projects, and preparing academic and cultural exchange activities for MBA participants in 2027.

ISME continues to promote international cooperation towards sustainable and effective partnerships
By developing well-directed collaborative initiatives aligned with practical needs, ISME continues to strengthen its connections with international partners, expand opportunities for knowledge exchange, and contribute to building a dynamic, internationally integrated learning environment for faculty members, undergraduate students, and postgraduate learners.
