In May 2026, Pham Son Tung a Cohort 1 alumnus of the International Bachelor’s Program IBD@NEU, was honoured with election to the Executive Board of the Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) for Term V (2026–2030), marking a proud milestone for the generation of young entrepreneurs coming of age in the digital era.

Pham Son Tung, Cohort 1 alumnus of IBD@NEU, elected to the Executive Board of VECOM for Term V

One of the most accomplished figures in the IBD@NEU Alumni community, Tung demonstrated the makings of a leader from an exceptionally early age. As a third-year student at IBD@NEU, he became the founding president of the IBD Leaders Club, a bold move that spoke volumes about his character. Driven by a genuine “dare to think, dare to do” spirit, he rallied his peers to create ambitious, high-impact programmes and events that left a lasting impression on the programme’s community.

Tung was among the first international-track students at the National Economics University, a genuine pioneer who chose an international programme with clear conviction and purpose, even as a student at a public high school, Le Quy Don. He persuaded his family to support his decision to pursue an internationally accredited education, and wasted no time in stepping into management roles from very early on. That foundation has carried him far: today, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of HGI under HG Holdings, while also playing an active role in steering and developing projects across financial investment, real estate, education, technology, and commerce.

A successful entrepreneur, Tung also actively participates in community and charitable programmes

Beyond his business endeavours, Pham Son Tung remains deeply committed to giving back. He has been involved in a range of community health and charitable initiatives, from organising healthcare activities for young people and underprivileged children, to supporting programmes for orphans and championing a spirit of positive living and sustainable development.

Tung also makes a point of returning to campus regularly to share his experiences and insights with the current generation of IBD@NEU students,  through guest speaker sessions, guest lectures, mentoring programmes, and other school-industry engagement activities. For him, success is not measured by business achievements alone, but by the meaningful contributions one can make to society and the wider community.
